Location: Eden Prairie Yard Waste Site – 9811 Flying Cloud Drive
Hours:
May – Sunday Before Thanksgiving (Weather Permitting)
Friday, 2:00pm-7:00pm
Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am-5:00pm
After October 1, schedule switches to this:
Friday, 2:00pm-5:00pm
Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am-5:00pm
Closed Easter, Memorial Day and July 4th, Labor Day ,Veterans Day- No work on the holidays!
Position Details
The Yard Waste Drop Off Site Attendant provides exceptional customer service to the residents of Eden Prairie who use the site by interacting with them in a professional manner, creating a positive experience. This position is responsible for the following essential functions:
Position Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) required. Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record required. Completion of Site and Safety Training before first shift.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift/carry/push/pull a maximum of 20 lbs, frequent standing, sitting, walking and ability to work under all weather conditions. The attendant WILL NOT help users back trailers, unload, load or reload material.

Safety: All Maintenance Technicians must demonstrate safe equipment operation and working conditions in traffic on City streets, parks and while entering confined spaces.
Accountability: Follows through on commitments; focuses on appropriate tasks throughout the shift; takes responsibilities for actions both as an individual and on behalf of the organization; actions and words are in sync; follows all policies and procedures; maintains confidentiality; is prepared and punctual to all scheduled shifts.
Communication: Able to convey a message to get a point across; communicates in a clear and concise manner; able to write clearly and succinctly; tailors message to a variety of communication settings and styles.
Attention to Detail: Able to find errors in work and solve problems; anticipates issues and performs at a high level of accuracy; sets up systems to ensure errors are not repeated.
Sound Judgment: Able to make a decision based on the right mixture of facts; determines a course of action after weighing and analyzing different options.

- Interact with users of the Yard Waste Site in a professional and courteous manner and to verify they are Eden Prairie Residents/Business Owners.
- Visually inspect loads to ensure that only approved yard waste is being received and direct users to appropriate location to dispose of materials.
- Record materials being brought in to the site for disposal.
- Notify and make note of residents who are improperly using site, record license plate, and notify Streets Division Manager or Police if necessary.
- An enclosed environmentally controlled building is onsite but exposure to inclement weather is possible.
